This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Design and sustain automated provisioning pipelines (PXE, ZTP) for deploying bare-metal servers, ensuring the configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., aligns with standards and project/operational requirements at scale across global data centers.
• Explore and propose innovative and automated solutions for system administration tasks.
• Conduct regular security monitoring to detect potential intrusions.
• Troubleshoot and recover from hardware or software failures, collaborating with affected teams.
• Regularly apply OS patches and upgrades, as well as update administrative tools and utilities.
• Oversee the maintenance of data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
• Engage in continuous performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as needed.
• Serve as a technical lead and reliable point of contact for the infrastructure team, promoting operational excellence and best engineering practices.
• Assist in mentoring and onboarding engineers, enhancing team collaboration and communication, and contributing to the team’s growth as the infrastructure organization expands.
• Report directly to the CTO, closely collaborating with other technology teams to enhance reliability, automation, monitoring, and incident response processes throughout the infrastructure stack.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in DevOps, system administration/debugging, and scripting tools.
• Over 2 years of experience in Team Lead or people management roles.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts as part of the incident response team.
• Proficient in coding with Shell, Python/Java, and SQL commands.
• Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet/Chef for managing bare-metal configurations and automations.
• Strong understanding of L4/L7 load balancing (HAProxy/Nginx) and network performance tuning (TCP/IP stack optimization).
• Familiarity with pipeline/orchestration tools such as Jenkins/Airflow and similar platforms is essential.
• Knowledge of observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB) is required.
• Understanding of Kubernetes is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux systems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as engineering or computer science.
• Certification in Unix systems administration/system engineering is an added advantage.
