Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Enhance visibility, efficiency, and cost savings across multi-cloud infrastructures.

• Develop and execute strategies aimed at minimizing operational expenses across GCP, AWS, Firebase, and managed services.

• Create and sustain cost dashboards for monitoring expenditures across various cloud providers.

• Establish and uphold Cost per Operation (CPO) metrics in collaboration with product owners.

• Implement policies, guardrails, budgets, and alerts to avert cost overruns.

• Create automation scripts to identify idle resources and optimize workloads.

• Analyze cloud bills by team, project, and service while offering actionable insights.

• Collaborate with finance, DevOps, platform, and product teams.

• Offer expertise on designing cost-effective cloud-native systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Cloud Engineering roles with an emphasis on cost optimization.

• Extensive hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, GKE, Firebase, Pub/Sub), AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS), and managed services such as MongoDB Atlas, Elastic.co, and ClickHouse.

• Strong working knowledge of DoiT Cloud Analytics, GCP Billing Export, AWS CUR (Cost & Usage Reports), and BigQuery.

• Proficient in Python, Bash, and automation frameworks for cost management and reporting.

• Comfortable with querying and visualizing cloud billing data to understand unit economics (e.g., cost per user, per API call, per deployment).

• Familiarity with cost management in Kubernetes (e.g., node cost allocation, workload optimization, spot/preemptible usage).

• Capable of transforming complex cost insights into practical plans for engineering and business stakeholders.
