This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Enhance the developer experience at EP by implementing workflow automation, self-service tools, reusable infrastructure patterns, and diligent standardization.
• Maintain and improve EP’s GitHub Actions-based build and deployment pipelines to boost engineering productivity and product quality.
• Ensure efficient utilization of third-party services, including AWS, Datadog, and Akamai, while monitoring and optimizing cloud expenditures.
• Establish and uphold high technical standards within the engineering team, focusing on performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Create comprehensive infrastructure designs that meet the ongoing scalability, reliability, security, and performance requirements of the platform.
• Collaborate with various teams and functions to define our architecture and technical roadmap.
• Assist in the design and enforcement of security controls to ensure compliance with essential frameworks, such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end availability, reliability, security, and performance of the EP platform.
• Develop automation, observability, and processes to maintain EP's high availability, scalability, and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.
• Educate and empower software engineers to adopt an operational mindset when designing services and to effectively operate their creations.
• Integrate AI into the development toolchain, including AI-driven security reviews, code analysis, policy enforcement, and observability, utilizing AI to enhance both personal and team productivity.
• Cultivate a healthy and collaborative culture that aligns with EP’s core values.
• Make practical decisions and reasonable trade-offs that align with overarching business objectives.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and operating cloud software and build tools at scale.
• Profound knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and infrastructure as code methodologies.
• Experience in building continuous deployment pipelines, automated quality and compliance checks, and AI-driven workflow automation.
• A strong security mindset with experience in industry-standard security protocols and frameworks, along with familiarity in DevSecOps practices.
• Experience in leading initiatives and continuously enhancing observability, logging, alerting, and incident response strategies.
• Background working in a distributed, cross-functional engineering environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capability to manage risk, ambiguity, dependencies, and engage with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to align engineering efforts with high-level organizational objectives.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
