Lead DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Configure, manage, and enhance Cloudflare services, which include: Web Application Firewall (WAF), CDN, caching strategies, firewall rules, rate limiting, bot management, and custom rules.

• Analyze Cloudflare logs to identify: security threats and attack patterns, performance bottlenecks, false positives, and opportunities for rule tuning.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to securely expose APIs and customer-facing endpoints.

• Take ownership of the AWS security posture, encompassing: IAM best practices and least-privilege access, network security (VPCs, security groups, NACLs), encryption, key management, and compliance controls.

• Lead AWS cost optimization initiatives by: analyzing usage patterns and spending, recommending and implementing savings strategies (e.g., right-sizing, reservations, architectural improvements).

• Establish and uphold security and operational standards across AWS accounts and environments.

• Design, optimize, and maintain centralized logging and observability across: Amazon CloudWatch, New Relic, Sumo Logic, and Cloudflare.

• Enhance the signal-to-noise ratio by: reducing redundant or low-value logs, standardizing log formats and metadata.

• Develop and refine dashboards, alerts, and SLO/SLI-based monitoring to boost system visibility and reliability.

• Create, document, and continually improve incident response processes, which include: detection, escalation, and communication, as well as root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

• Serve as a senior responder for security and availability incidents and drive preventive improvements based on incident learnings.

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security and reliability earlier in the development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.

• Strong expertise in managing Cloudflare, including WAF and rule-based security.

• Proven experience with observability platforms such as: CloudWatch, New Relic, and Sumo Logic.

• In-depth understanding of: web security principles (OWASP Top 10, DDoS mitigation, API security).

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, DNS).

• Experience in creating and enhancing operational processes and runbooks.

• Ability to analyze logs and metrics to drive actionable improvements.

• Excellent written communication skills for documentation, incident reports, and recommendations.
