Lead Design Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and provide support for all New Product Development, Product Improvement, and Sustaining Changes within a specific product line.

• Provide guidance on intricate design and engineering decisions.

• Manage schedules for large-scale projects and assign tasks to the design team.

• Collaborate with Product Design Managers to ensure initiatives are completed accurately and efficiently.

• Mentor and support junior design and drafting personnel.

• Implement process enhancements and best practices.

• Carry out design tasks and produce finished drawings in collaboration with drafters.

• Assign and oversee product-area tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

• Work with manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for production.

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise design and drafting activities.

• Provide project progress reports to engineering, management, customers, and suppliers.

• Act as a technical member of engineering projects, engineering change, or material review teams.

• Develop company standards and procedures.

• Create documentation of best practices and refine design and drafting processes.

• Establish and implement global design-process standards across design centers.

• Research and suggest CAD and design hardware/software solutions.

• Assist engineers with the selection of chiller components, weight distributions, airflow calculations, heat transfer calculations, and electromechanical systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of expertise in CREO modeling.

• Experience in designing large mechanical assemblies.

• Fundamental understanding of team leadership qualities and practices.

• Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident of the US.

• Proficient in CREO at an expert level.

• Preferred experience with Windchill PLM.

• Preferred knowledge of the Pro-Piping module.

• Preferred background in the Chiller and/or HVAC/R industry.
