Lead Database Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of data strategies and practices for database management.

• Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization.

• Engage in database-related projects, such as creating migration scripts, procedures, and DDL.

• Oversee high-risk data deployments.

• Provide consultancy support to development teams.

• Continuously enhance data operational engineering methodologies.

• Stay informed about industry trends and present proposals to Wellness Solutions.

• Promote and implement DevOps and SRE principles.

• Mentor and foster growth in other data professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and make informed technical decisions.

• Extensive knowledge in database reliability, performance, and management.

• Significant experience with relational databases, particularly SQL Server and Azure SQL.

• Proficient in advanced T-SQL.

• Familiarity with scripting, object-oriented programming, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Python, PowerShell, and Terraform.

• Experience in agile environments utilizing SCRUM and/or Kanban methodologies.

• Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to share ideas.
