Lead Data Scientist – Public Sector, Security Cleared

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

• Design, architect, and implement cutting-edge AI solutions using the latest machine learning, generative, and agentic AI technologies.

• Promote the utilization of contemporary AI frameworks, best practices in AI Ops, and scalable cloud-native infrastructures.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance, working alongside customers to convert business challenges into reliable AI solutions while ensuring adherence to responsible AI practices.

• Cultivate an environment that encourages innovation, ongoing learning, and engineering excellence.

• Oversee, mentor, and develop a small team, prioritizing employee performance management and supporting their career advancement.

• Provide leadership and direction for your team as you collaboratively address complex challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a 2.1 degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• In-depth knowledge and experience in developing AI/ML models, including time series analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and large language models (LLMs).

• Experience with contemporary AI engineering methodologies such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI.

• Proficient in Python with a solid foundation in software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.

• Expertise in data engineering for AI, specifically in managing large-scale, unstructured, and multimodal datasets.

• Familiarity with responsible AI principles, model interpretability, and ethical considerations.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to lead client projects and communicate requirements in non-technical terms.

• Must possess active UK Government Security Clearance.
