This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Oversee the hiring, onboarding, training, and performance assessment of members within the Clinical Data Management team.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities for employees to facilitate career advancement and succession planning.
• Arrange and conduct training sessions on new systems, equipment, processes, and study requirements.
• Ensure that team data management files and documentation are up-to-date, complete, and ready for inspection.
• Facilitate regular status meetings with Sponsors/CROs and internal stakeholders.
• Track productivity and quality metrics across the CDM team.
• Create and monitor KPIs, which include quality metrics, productivity, data delivery, and query performance.
• Carry out routine performance and quality assessments with managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Assist team members with edit check setup and the appropriate handling of edit check outputs.
• Lead the resolution of Quality Events linked to study-specific data management tasks.
• Act as the primary contact for Data Management-related inquiries, issues, and concerns from both internal teams and Sponsors.
• Collaborate with Sponsors, Project Management, and Account Management to define and maintain Data Management Plans.
• Aid in the development, review, and finalization of data transfer requirements in conjunction with Sponsors and Clinical Data Programming teams.
• Engage in the review and approval process of Data Management-owned study setup modules.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely delivery, clear communication, and consistent service excellence.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and provide relevant data management metrics.
• Develop, review, and update SOPs, SWIs, job descriptions, and departmental training materials.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Quality Assurance to assist in client meetings and audits.
• Maintain communication with Sponsors and internal teams regarding study progress, timelines, and potential risks.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements, workflow optimizations, and documentation efforts.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data management.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline is preferred.
• Previous leadership or people management experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with or experience in SAS and/or SQL is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and client-facing teams.
