Lead Data Engineer, SQL, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement data solutions to enhance clinical trial support.

• Recommend design methodologies and reporting strategies for effective trial execution.

• Create complex custom solutions to streamline data flow across internal systems.

• Design and set up integrations with external systems.

• Develop custom reports and dashboards that incorporate multiple data sources.

• Participate in study meetings, assess specifications, and offer technical guidance.

• Conduct code reviews, peer evaluations, and promptly address any defects.

• Document work through release notes and ensure appropriate unit testing across different environments.

• Troubleshoot technical challenges and act as the final point of escalation for issues.

• Lead and mentor team members, assist with training, and promote a collaborative atmosphere.

• Drive strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and automating processes.

• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory standards.

• Engage in client-facing meetings and serve as a technical subject matter expert for escalations.

• Coordinate deliverables, timelines, and prioritization for the Data Delivery team.

• Own corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), assist with audits, and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• MS/BA/BS in a relevant field.

• Over 7 years of technical experience, including a minimum of 3 years in the industry.

• 1–2 years of leadership experience.

• Strong capability in designing and developing SQL and Oracle stored procedures, views, and functions; experience with MS SQL Server is preferred.

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, including Oracle stored procedures, views, and functions; familiarity with MS SQL Server is advantageous.

• Proven hands-on experience with Python programming is required; knowledge of additional scripting or object-oriented languages is a plus.

• Solid grasp of relational database concepts and management of large-scale databases.

• Ability to read and develop in XML, XSLT, CSS, JSON, and JavaScript.

• Proven experience with Power BI for creating interactive reports and dashboards.

• Strong data visualization skills using Plotly are a plus.

• Experience in integrating data sources and optimizing performance for large datasets.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven success in technical leadership and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.

• Clinical trial experience is a plus.
