• Lead and mentor a group of data engineers, offering guidance, support, and technical expertise.
• Work in collaboration with business and technical leaders to establish and implement both strategic and tactical objectives.
• Remain updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.
• Assess and consider new platforms and tools to enhance the technical stack and improve data infrastructure and processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines sourced from various TMS and other data sources.
• Create and implement new data architectures or modify existing structures to accommodate changing business needs.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and completeness through effective validation and monitoring processes.
• Develop and sustain our Data Vault, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts to provide essential metrics to both operational and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with a diverse range of users, including internal stakeholders, executives, clients, engineers, and external vendors.
• Enhance and fortify processes such as code deployments, data validation, error handling/alerting, data democratization, and addressing technical debt.
• Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience); preference given to fields such as Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related areas.
• A creative thinker who is intellectually curious and passionate about solving challenges and continuous learning.
• Over 8 years of technology experience with one or more of the following: Amazon Relational Database Service (Aurora, MySQL), Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake.
• Outstanding SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Strong proficiency in Python language, libraries, applications, and concepts, including Pandas, Streamlit, and NumPy.
• Familiarity with JSON and CSV Requests.
• Experience with TMS, WMS, or other enterprise logistics platforms, Data Vault 2.0, Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, REST API is a significant advantage.
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Coalesce.io and YAML.
• Experience with git, DevOps, and CI/CD is a considerable plus.
• A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who is highly adaptable and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
