Lead Data Engineer – Advertising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency data systems that connect cloud data lakes and warehouses to dynamic AI backends and real-time autonomous workflows.

• Transform static data repositories into active context layers, vector engines, and memory systems for self-sufficient AI agents and downstream applications.

• Create real-time data ingestion, event-driven streaming, and retrieval pipelines, including RAG, vector stores, and operational databases.

• Set data architecture standards, CI/CD practices, documentation, and data quality protocols.

• Guide and mentor data engineers.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, Product teams, Creative Directors, and agency stakeholders to convert requirements into production-ready data APIs and schemas.

• Utilize AI-driven coding, agentic engineering, and contemporary automated workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Proven expertise in designing, building, and scaling data pipelines and cloud infrastructure from inception.

• Experience in activating data infrastructure for dynamic, real-time downstream applications.

• Knowledge in constructing data layers for real-time, event-driven applications.

• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or pgvector.

• Experience in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) at scale.

• Strong proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Advanced skills in Python and SQL.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, agentic coding, and automated engineering workflows.

• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards.

• Excellent communication skills suited for a hybrid Tech/Creative environment.

• Must be located in Latin America.
