Lead Data Engineer – Advertising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance high-throughput, low-latency data infrastructure that connects cloud data lakes and warehouses to dynamic AI backends and real-time agentic workflows.

• Transform static data repositories into dynamic context layers, vector engines, and memory systems tailored for autonomous AI agents and downstream applications.

• Construct real-time ingestion, event-driven streaming, and retrieval pipelines, including RAG, vector stores, and operational databases.

• Define data architecture standards, CI/CD processes, documentation, and best practices for data quality.

• Provide mentorship to data engineers.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, Product teams, Creative Directors, and agency stakeholders to convert requirements into production-quality data APIs and schemas.

• Utilize AI-driven coding, agentic engineering, and contemporary automated workflows.

• Influence data strategy, engineering standards, and team culture, exercising considerable autonomy in technical decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling data pipelines and cloud infrastructure from inception.

• Expertise in activating data infrastructure for dynamic, real-time downstream applications.

• Background in constructing data layers for real-time, event-driven applications.

• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or pgvector.

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) at scale.

• Strong proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Advanced skills in Python and SQL.

• Proficient in utilizing AI-assisted development tools, agentic coding, and automated engineering workflows.

• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards.

• Excellent communication skills, suitable for a hybrid Tech/Creative environment.

• Residing in Latin America.

• Fluent in English.
