This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Produce high-quality content in English for the Secondary portfolio within the Cengage | National Geographic Learning Global English Language Learning team.

• Lead project teams in developing all facets of one or more major series throughout all stages of development.

• Collaborate with Learning Designers, Portfolio Managers, senior management, authors, and subject matter experts to create programs that align with learning objectives and satisfy customer needs.

• Identify, recruit, and oversee freelance authors, editors, and editorial vendors.

• Create content planning documents, guidelines, and prototypes for all components.

• Suggest innovative and effective pedagogical strategies based on market demands and feedback.

• Develop project workflows, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with Print and Digital Production and Academic Design.

• Estimate, plan, and communicate project progress to ensure timely and budget-conscious content delivery.

• Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external Production, Creative Studio, Operations, Digital, freelance, and writing teams.

• Provide training and support to team members as necessary.

• Identify and propose enhancements for projects.

• Foster a highly motivated, committed, and engaged team.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS/CELTA degree.

• 8–10 years of experience in educational publishing or equivalent teaching experience in English Language Learning (ELL).

• Strong project management skills, including experience with budgeting and scheduling.

• Proficient in editing, proofreading, and possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Comprehensive understanding of language learning pedagogy.

• Familiarity with NGL brand and content design principles.

• Ability to assist in planning and adhering to a learning design strategy.

• Capability to work independently on multiple projects.

• Experience in developing English language content for secondary learners in grades 6–12.
