Lead Consultant, Data Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications, financial reporting, analytics, and data products.

• Implement 3NF Modeling principles to create normalized relational data structures.

• Construct dimensional data models utilizing star and snowflake schemas, facts, dimensions, and hierarchies.

• Create and optimize data warehouse architectures for data integration, storage, transformation, and retrieval.

• Write, review, and enhance complex SQL queries.

• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements, reporting needs, and data relationships into effective modeling solutions.

• Set data modeling standards, naming conventions, documentation, metadata, and best practices.

• Collaborate with data engineering and ETL/ELT teams to implement data models across enterprise data platforms.

• Assess data architectures and propose enhancements for scalability, performance, data quality, and maintainability.

• Assist in data governance, master data management, and data quality initiatives.

• Lead design discussions, conduct model reviews, and offer technical guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8+ years of experience.

• Strong hands-on expertise in 3NF Modeling and relational database design.

• Proficient in Dimensional Modeling, specifically with star and snowflake schemas.

• Comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, architecture, and implementation.

• Skilled in SQL, database structures, data relationships, and query optimization.

• Proven experience in translating intricate business requirements into scalable enterprise data models.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with Snowflake and enterprise cloud data platforms is a plus.

• Practical knowledge of ERWin and ER/Studio data modeling tools is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and SAP data environments is advantageous.

• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, metadata management, and data governance is desirable.
