Lead Coding Specialist, CCS, RHIT Certified

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main support for the Coding Supervisor.

• Aid in overseeing coding, abstracting, and reimbursement processes that support billing, ensuring compliance and efficient operations across all Baptist Health facilities.

• Verify adherence to established goals along with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, CPT, and coding standards.

• Assist in the evaluation of reports and workflows to identify areas for enhancement, monitor work volume and distribution, review and reconcile reports, provide coding training within the Coding Department, and conduct research on coding-related issues.

• Supervise the activities of coding personnel to ensure accurate and timely processing in line with state and federal regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree.

• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist certification.

• Preference for RHIA or RHIT credentials or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of five years of coding experience in Inpatient or Outpatient Surgery, Ancillary, and Emergency Room settings within a large healthcare organization is required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders, along with problem-solving and personnel management capabilities.

• Familiarity with health information systems, database management, spreadsheet creation, and computer technology.

• Strong proficiency in computer applications (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).

• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive demeanor and delivering outstanding customer service.

• Capacity to work independently and complete assignments within the guidelines of provided instructions, prescribed routines, and accepted standards.
