Lead AWS Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold a cloud strategy that aligns with business goals.

• Assess and propose cloud services, platforms, and technologies.

• Design cloud architectures that are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient using AWS.

• Produce comprehensive architecture documentation, which includes diagrams, specifications, and deployment guides.

• Oversee the execution of cloud solutions utilizing AWS.

• Strategize and implement the migration of applications and data to the cloud, ensuring smooth integration with ECS container platforms.

• Apply security best practices and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations within AWS environments.

• Perform regular security evaluations and audits of cloud environments.

• Monitor and enhance cloud resource usage and performance across AWS.

• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and business teams to comprehend requirements and deliver technical guidance on AWS.

• Mentor and assist team members in the adoption of cloud technologies and best practices.

• Formulate and oversee cloud budgeting and cost optimization strategies for AWS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Active DOD Secret security clearance.

• At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture or a similar role, with 7+ years in the information technology sector.

• Strong grasp of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

• Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Networking, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS, etc.).

• Significant experience with EKS or other Kubernetes technologies.

• Proficient in containerization technologies, microservices architecture, and serverless computing.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, tools (e.g., Gitlab, Git, Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Current CompTIA Security+ certification.

• Additional AWS certification.
