This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish and expand Atticus’s personal injury practice as a founding attorney.
• Oversee all legal operations, managing case selection, strategy, and client representation from initial intake to resolution.
• Directly advocate for severely injured clients in negotiations, mediations, or trials before litigation.
• Lead a team of both attorney and non-attorney professionals focused on intake and case management.
• Collaborate with General Manager Peter Bailinson and report directly to him.
• Work closely with CEO and Managing Attorney Sam Byker.
• Collaborate with marketing to create a client-facing brand that sets Atticus apart from traditional competitors.
• Partner with product teams to establish standards for after-hours support and protocols for high-value cases.
• Develop the practice in conjunction with software engineers, product managers, and operational staff.
• Allocate resources towards the development and scaling of the injury practice.
• Extensive experience in personal injury law at a plaintiff's firm, particularly in motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.
• Proven track record of representing clients throughout all stages of a case, including trial experience.
• In-depth knowledge of legal operations within a plaintiff’s firm and innovative ideas for improvement.
• Experience supervising non-attorney professionals in intake, case management, and support roles.
• A resourceful team player who thrives in a dynamic startup environment.
• A demonstrated commitment to social good and assisting individuals in need.
• Must be based in California.
• Must hold a valid California law license.
• A network of injury attorneys for referrals, co-counsel opportunities, and general advice is a bonus.
• Familiarity with the marketing operations of a plaintiff’s firm and understanding of marketing/intake economics is a bonus.
• Existing connections or referral channels capable of generating cases is a bonus.
• Experience in launching a legal practice, or working in a startup or other fast-paced, agile environments is a bonus.
