Lead Analyst, People Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with HR product owners to understand their decision-making processes, then create product-intelligence reports that enable them to analyze their data and link signals to key outcomes.

• Develop and construct a cohesive suite of dashboards accompanied by enablement materials, such as usage guides, to assist stakeholders in understanding their data and enhancing adoption and decision-making.

• Apply rigorous research methodologies to our analytical endeavors.

• Design robust analyses and exercise discernment to determine when an inference is valid, when data may be misleading, and when a model is appropriate for the decision at hand (e.g., strong grasp of sampling error, survivorship bias, cross-validation, and bias-variance tradeoffs).

• Create theory-informed institutional knowledge that includes clear, measurable process models for addressing enduring questions, such as the factors influencing talent density and the bottlenecks in the hiring process.

• Contribute to a foundational knowledge base that enhances ServiceTitan's people-analytic capabilities.

• Convert complex analyses into insights that are ready for executive presentation.

• Begin with the decision facing the audience, clearly articulating the “so what,” while keeping detailed information in the supportive context rather than at the forefront.

• Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders regarding organizational challenges, helping to expand PIA’s advisory offerings with deep expertise in data, systems, and content.

• Create and implement AI-driven workflows that empower a small team to achieve significant outputs, utilizing AI to expedite content, documentation, code, and analysis, allowing individuals to concentrate on judgment and accuracy.

• Engage hands-on across the PIA stack (Visier, Snowflake, SQL, and Python or R), building, validating, and deploying solutions directly as necessary.

• Elevate the quality of the team’s analytical output, modeling high standards and assisting teammates in delivering their best work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a quantitative or analytics role focused on building business intelligence and generating actionable insights, preferably within a People or HR team.

• A robust foundation in applied research methods, including experimental and quasi-experimental design, statistical inference, and the insight to evaluate validity and suitability.

• Conceptual understanding is prioritized over hands-on coding skills.

• A history of translating analyses into decisions for senior, non-technical stakeholders, with tangible adoption results to demonstrate.

• Proven ability in stakeholder management and a consultative approach with senior leaders.

• Comfortable defining problems in ambiguous situations, not just addressing clearly defined ones.

• Technical proficiency to independently build and validate: SQL, Python or R, BI and analytics platforms, and data pipelines.

• Advanced skills in data visualization and storytelling.

• Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance analytical processes.

• A self-motivated individual capable of handling sensitive and confidential data with discretion.

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Statistics, or Business Analytics, or equivalent professional experience.
