Lead AI Engineer, Business Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Defines architectural patterns, evaluation methodologies, and deployment standards for the team.

• Provides recommendations for frameworks and models that establish the groundwork for team development — evaluates orchestration frameworks, selects deployment strategies, trains and fine-tunes models, and determines the transition from managed platforms to custom builds.

• Converts proposed business solutions into technical implementation plans — outlines product life cycles, prioritizes the backlog, and segments initiatives into actionable tasks.

• Manages solutions from conception to completion: technical planning, architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing monitoring to ensure integrity in production.

• Develops the systems for monitoring, evaluation, and regression detection that maintain the reliability of production agents — including logging, performance benchmarking, and feedback loops to identify drift proactively.

• Collaborates with data governance to ensure that solutions adhere to compliance, data quality, and operational standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience with a robust full-stack background — encompassing backend services, API design, system integration, and data infrastructure.

• Recent hands-on experience in developing AI or LLM-supported systems and successfully deploying them to production.

• Proven experience in architecting solutions from the ground up and overseeing them through deployment, observability, testing, and ongoing reliability.

• Familiarity with AI development practices — including model selection, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and discerning the appropriate application of each approach.

• Proficient in Python; experience with cloud platforms is a plus.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction across various initiatives.

• Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
