Lead AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI/ML software prototypes.

• Take ownership of the technical direction and architecture for assigned projects, ensuring consistency across initiatives.

• Oversee technical planning, estimation, and execution for both customer-funded and internal R&D projects, including defining and tracking technical milestones and deliverables.

• Conduct design and code reviews to guarantee quality, scalability, and maintainability.

• Identify and manage technical risks associated with data, models, system integration, and dependencies.

• Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, effectively presenting designs, results, and trade-offs.

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering team growth, capability development, and scaling of engineering practices.

• Enhance team effectiveness through structured planning, clear prioritization, and the timely resolution of technical and organizational obstacles.

• Ensure that engineering efforts align with customer requirements and company objectives.

• Lead or contribute to proposal development, including shaping technical approaches, estimates, and solution strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field.

• 7+ years of professional experience in AI/ML development, validation, and deployment.

• Proven proficiency in algorithm development and implementation using Python or similar programming languages.

• Strong mathematical foundation and knowledge of AI, ML, deep learning, and contemporary data science techniques.

• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineers or workstreams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience interacting directly with customers and stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Agile or iterative development environments.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% within the United States.

• Eligibility to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
