This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop self-service data tools that enable non-technical teams to pose in-depth questions, perform “what if” analyses, and produce actionable, data-driven results without gatekeeping.
• Create engaging narratives and dashboards that highlight insights for executives and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure that fraud and safety metrics are scalable, future-proof, and supported by clear governance, ownership, and automated monitoring.
• Take ownership of launch and decision criteria for fraud and safety experiments by establishing launch thresholds, gating the release of metrics based on decision quality, and assisting leadership in making data-informed decisions.
• Facilitate external audits, law enforcement inquiries, and board-level reporting with rigorous, well-governed data and clear analytical narratives.
• Implement frameworks that quickly assess and evaluate the platform, reputational, and regulatory impacts of fraud incidents, allowing for rapid escalation, clear retrospectives, and systematic learning.
• Over 5 years of experience in data analytics, fraud, safety, or a related quantitative field, with significant individual-contributor expertise, or at least 2 years of industry experience with a PhD.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale data products or taxonomies.
• Proficient in SQL and data modeling; familiarity with Python/R; practical knowledge of ML pipelines.
• Extensive experience in designing experiments and applying causal inference methods, preferably in a multi-sided platform environment.
• In-depth understanding of measuring rare events with statistical rigor, including prevalence estimation, sampling strategies, and statistical power.
• Familiarity with account integrity, user authentication, and connected-account vectors such as social logins, device fingerprinting, and related identity signals.
• Proficient in incident impact scoping, post-incident analytics, scenario planning or tabletop exercises, and translating insights into systematic enhancements.
• Proven track record of empowering legal, policy, operations, product, and engineering teams to make independent, forward-thinking, data-driven decisions through self-service tools.
• Exceptional storytelling skills, capable of making complex analytics accessible and actionable for all audiences.
