This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Oversee the process and engagement in developing digital products and seamless end-to-end experiences.
• Guide and mentor Product Designers across various teams.
• Collaborate with Product Design Leads and Service Design Leads to ensure alignment of product visions and experiences.
• Conceptualize and design optimal end states based on research insights.
• Implement user-centered design techniques throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Work alongside developers to establish user experience standards and adhere to industry best practices.
• Investigate design ideas through whiteboard sessions, wireframes, and usability studies.
• Collaborate with product owners to specify functionality and end-user needs.
• Lead, mentor, and potentially oversee teams across various product domains.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, sprints, and planning sessions.
• Plan and execute user/customer research in partnership with the Experience Research team.
• Identify opportunities to optimize resources and methodologies across teams.
• Investigate new patterns and practices, contributing to innovative methodologies.
• Utilize storytelling and persuasive techniques to foster trust with cross-functional colleagues.
• Champion the customer perspective throughout the organization.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring processes.
• Comply with operational risk controls and compliance standards.
• Uphold M&T internal control standards and execute audit and regulatory action items.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a combined minimum of 9 years of education and/or relevant product design work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated expertise in Product Design/Human-Centered Design.
• Experience in creating use cases, flow diagrams, prototypes, scenarios, and wireframes.
• Knowledge of design thinking methodologies and their application in product development.
• Practical experience designing for both digital touchpoints and non-digital channels.
• Experience managing programs through the complete product development lifecycle.
• Strong project and people management abilities.
• Capacity to mentor and educate others on experience design principles.
• Proficient at navigating ambiguity in a self-directed environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships.
• Extensive experience conducting both remote and in-person workshops.
• Familiarity with tools such as Miro and Webex.
• Experience with design and prototyping software including Adobe, Sketch, InVision, Figma, or similar tools.
• Proficient in industry best practices for desktop, mobile, and web applications.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, cross-platform challenges, mobile user interfaces, and systems thinking.
