Layout Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and validate layouts for Conventional Islands to ensure compliance with all technical and programmatic requirements.

• Advance design packages through the structured Design Review process.

• Actively engage stakeholders to gather requirements, assumptions, and constraints.

• Identify and manage risks related to Conventional Island installations, making decisions that align with program risk.

• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, ensuring compliance with both corporate and legislative guidelines.

• Collaborate with installation, layout, and CAD engineers to create module clusters that fulfill system, component, and transverse specifications.

• Maintain quality throughout the SMR lifecycle by participating in technical reviews and project review milestones.

• Assist with configuration and data management, guaranteeing accurate and controlled design information.

• Utilize knowledge of risk management, data-driven manufacturing, installation process enhancements, and construction planning to optimize design results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Plant Layout, Piping Layout, or a general Layout background in complex projects.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering installation design programs on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.

• Proven ability to lead the development of design solutions from initial concept to detailed specifications using Robust Design methodologies, including DfX and trade-off analyses.

• Strong logical problem-solving abilities and engineering judgment to ascertain optimal modular configurations.

• Understanding of Systems Engineering.

• Proficient in requirements management.

• Competent in stakeholder management.

• Experienced in technical and program risk management.

• Knowledgeable in design for through-life operation, nuclear safety, fault scenarios, and EMIT Gated Design Review processes.
