Lawyer – Financial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to banks, asset managers, funds, and insurers on regulatory, transactional, and structuring issues related to US and cross-border projects.

• Oversee matters from start to finish, including scoping, analysis, memos, documentation, negotiations, and interactions with regulators.

• Act as a reliable partner to general counsel, compliance heads, and internal teams.

• Transform each case into a reusable AI-driven service that includes analysis, precedents, and decision-making logic.

• Collaborate with engineers to develop tools that enhance legal processes.

• Establish quality standards and review protocols for defensible AI-generated legal work.

• Assist in launching the New York practice, focusing on structure, client intake, precedent library, and engagement agreements.

• Build the client base alongside the founders, from initial discussions to signed agreements.

• Recruit and mentor subsequent lawyers.

• Work closely with the managing partner, founders, and engineers to influence the firm's direction, client relationships, and operational model.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be admitted to the New York bar and maintain a clean disciplinary history.

• Several years of experience at a prominent US firm or in-house at a bank, fund, or insurer, with substantial responsibility for financial-sector matters.

• Extensive knowledge in at least one area: banking and financial regulation, funds and asset management, insurance regulation, structured products, or financial transactions.

• Focused on advisory and transactional work.

• Commercially astute, capable of understanding client needs and effectively pricing and scoping projects.

• Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to develop a firm from its inception.

• Native or fluent in English.

• Located in or willing to relocate to New York.

• Existing connections with general counsels or compliance leaders at banks, funds, or insurers (preferred).

• Cross-border experience with European financial institutions (preferred).

• Experience in developing AI solutions, such as automation, agents, or workflows (preferred).

• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Must be a member of the New York bar.
