Language Technology Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and management centered on Christian values for SIL’s Language Technology department.

• Enhance existing funding sources and revenue streams.

• Reorganize LangTech operations, budgeting, and various other functions.

• Expand the LangTech workforce through collaborative efforts and recruitment initiatives.

• Represent SIL within the Language Development and Bible translation technology sectors.

• Clarify and reinforce service relationships with SIL Areas and other organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in computer science and/or software engineering.

• Proven experience in organizational management and leading software development teams.

• Strong understanding of software development processes.

• Preferred experience in a language program or familiarity with field methods utilized in Bible translation, language description, and analysis.

• Cross-cultural experience is advantageous.
