This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary language expert and reliable contact for French voice AI initiatives.
• Oversee annotation quality, conduct data audits, monitor product performance, investigate customer-reported concerns, and manage linguistically complex assignments.
• Collaborate with the Human Evals Manager regarding project deliverables and timelines.
• Address annotator inquiries related to guidelines, edge cases, and language-specific matters.
• Relay feedback, instructions, and updates on rubrics to annotators.
• Review audio rated by annotators and evaluate its conformity with rubrics.
• Create written quality assessments that include examples and recommendations.
• Assess the pronunciation, prosody, and naturalness of TTS in French.
• Revise and enhance annotation guidelines.
• Conduct calibration meetings and hold office hours.
• Develop onboarding resources for annotators.
• Produce QA reports detailing annotation quality and calibration results.
• Examine production audio and identify quality concerns.
• Investigate language issues reported by customers and determine root causes.
• Audit datasets for linguistic precision, completeness, and consistency.
• Native-level proficiency in French as spoken in France.
• Background in data annotation, transcription, or language quality assurance.
• Strong foundation in linguistics or a related discipline.
• Capability to apply phonetics, prosody, and intonation when assessing speech and writing annotation guidelines.
• Strong written proficiency in English.
• Ability to craft clear, structured instructions and provide specific, actionable feedback.
• Comfortable utilizing inter-rater agreement scores, audit spreadsheets, and structured feedback templates.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage feedback cycles, QA reviews, and data projects independently.
• Availability of approximately 40 hours per week with scheduling flexibility.
• Willingness to attend coordination meetings and overlap schedules during US Pacific business hours.
• Must be authorized to work in your country of residence.
• Preferred: experience in writing or maintaining annotation guidelines or rubrics.
• Preferred: experience in training, mentoring, or managing annotators.
• Preferred: experience with audio evaluation, TTS, or STT.
• Preferred: conversational spoken English proficiency for meetings and calibration syncs.
• Preferred: experience working with distributed, remote teams.
• Must provide personal equipment and manage own taxes.
