This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a thorough understanding of the specific vocabulary used in the healthcare and medical sectors.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretation.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in English as the source language and native fluency in Kumana as the target language.

• Over one year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
