Korean/English OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry in which you will be interpreting (particularly healthcare and medical). Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest quality of customer service during interpreting sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Korean'.

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is a plus, but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is desirable.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
