This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with and assist wholesale distributors and independent grocery retailers.
• Organize promotional activities, introduce new products, and oversee merchandising efforts.
• Achieve annual volume, profit, and other set objectives.
• Develop sales programs and present them to clients within the designated area.
• Maintain existing accounts, ensuring that product flow and service levels fulfill or surpass contract expectations.
• Identify and resolve customer-related issues.
• Build and nurture relationships with key personnel in designated accounts.
• Oversee and guide multiple brokers, including the assignment of annual Sales and P&L goals.
• Manage trade expenditures, promotions, and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with the Marketing department and utilize syndicated market data to generate sales opportunities.
• Conduct store visits, perform periodic price evaluations, and manage slotting for Bar-S Foods Co. and competitor offerings.
• Execute additional tasks as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or three (3) years of relevant sales experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with Nielsen Product Analysis (preferred).
• Two (2) years of experience in the Food Industry (preferred).
• Direct experience in driving mix and margin of meat sales within an independent retail sales context (preferred).
• Proven experience in presenting data to new and potential customers.
• Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, reliable, organized, and possesses a strong work ethic.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to see projects through to completion.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a stretch.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours.
• Capable of regularly lifting and moving 30-pound boxes/buckets onto and off of shelves or carts/hand-trucks.
• Able to repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push, or pull to manage 30 pounds.
