This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Identify, pursue, and secure new retail opportunities while expanding Ooma's Residential product line, which includes the Ooma Telo family of products, throughout Canada.
β’ Build and nurture strategic relationships with retail buyers, category managers, merchandising teams, and channel decision-makers across national, regional, specialty, and independent retailers.
β’ Develop and implement account and channel growth strategies to enhance distribution, increase market share, and drive revenue through both physical stores and eCommerce platforms.
β’ Take ownership of the sales process from initial outreach and account development to onboarding, product launches, and continuous account growth.
β’ Create annual business plans, conduct business reviews, and deliver executive-level presentations to retail partners.
β’ Collaborate with retailers to design and execute advertising, promotional, merchandising, pricing, and marketing initiatives that enhance consumer awareness and drive sales.
β’ Develop sales forecasts and demand plans while collaborating with Operations and Supply Chain teams to manage inventory, replenishment, and product availability.
β’ Oversee co-op marketing investments and promotional initiatives to maximize ROI and boost sales performance.
β’ Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support retail initiatives, product launches, and channel growth.
β’ Represent Ooma at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings while identifying new opportunities to enhance Ooma's retail footprint.
β’ Utilize AI-driven insights, where applicable, to enhance account outcomes, including pinpointing target opportunities, optimizing engagement strategies, and synthesizing learnings across accounts.
β’ 5+ years of experience in selling physical products through retail and distribution channels, with a strong preference for candidates from consumer electronics, connected devices, networking hardware, smart home, or similar technology sectors. Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of retail buying cycles, channel strategy, merchandising, and account development in retail settings.
β’ Proven history of opening new retail accounts, establishing relationships from the ground up, and driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition.
β’ Established connections with Canadian retailers, distributors, buyers, category managers, and merchandising teams, including experience beyond traditional big-box retailers.
β’ Experience managing both physical retail and e-commerce sales channels, encompassing product launches, promotions, merchandising, and online product optimization.
β’ Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans, negotiating agreements, and expanding market share in retail environments.
β’ Strong hunter mentality with the capability to prospect, network, and independently identify new business opportunities.
β’ Exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels within a retail organization.
β’ Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities while functioning with a high level of autonomy.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel throughout Canada and occasionally within the United States to foster customer relationships, support business development efforts, and attend industry events.
