Key Account Manager – Global Rare Diseases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Raise awareness about rare disease states and the company's marketed product(s) of focus, which includes proactive patient identification initiatives, lead generation, follow-up, and disease education within Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs).

• Formulate and implement territory strategies to discover undiagnosed or misdiagnosed patients through targeted account profiling, understanding diagnostic pathways, collaborating with centers of excellence, genetic counselors, infusion centers, and specialty pharmacies.

• Provide compliant disease state education to healthcare professionals and office staff regarding the signs, symptoms, diagnostic challenges, and treatment considerations associated with Lysosomal Storage Disorders, ensuring timely follow-up on patient leads and referral opportunities.

• Engage in business development and prospecting activities.

• Manage strategic accounts effectively, translating strategy into actionable plans.

• Target, plan, and consistently work through all states and regions within the designated geography.

• Prioritize lead management with prompt and consistent follow-up.

• Achieve and/or surpass sales forecasts, goals, and objectives.

• Analyze, develop, and execute a territory business plan with ongoing revisions based on current insights.

• Compliantly guide healthcare professionals through the prescribing process and support services.

• Collaborate with and provide insights to marketing, sales leadership, key internal partners, and sales training on local market needs concerning disease awareness, diagnosis, treatment education, tools, and product messaging.

• Implement marketing initiatives to enhance success in the local geography, including speaker programs.

• Attend HCP conferences to communicate key messages and share approved resources.

• Adhere consistently to compliance guidelines.

• Complete all training requirements in a timely manner.

• Understand, acknowledge, and comply with all Chiesi Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Submit call activity information in a timely manner into the CRM (Veeva).

• Regularly complete expense reports (Concur).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (a background in science or business is advantageous).

• Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in related and diverse roles.

• Clinical experience in selling specialty/rare disease products across a large geography comprising multiple states.

• Extensive local relationships, access, and market knowledge.

• Proven record of achieving top sales performance that meets or surpasses targeted objectives.

• Exceptional virtual/remote selling and customer engagement skills, along with strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Extensive account management experience.

• Demonstrated effective collaboration skills.

• Preferred knowledge of Lysosomal Storage Disorders, genetic testing pathways, patient identification strategies, and rare disease diagnostic ecosystems.

• Proven strategic problem-solving capabilities.

• Demonstrated competence in working across teams and proactively sharing information.

• Familiarity with Veeva, SalesForce.com, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.), Concur, Zoom, TEAMs, and WebEx.
