Junior Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• This position is for a Junior Technician focused on railroad track inspection operations.

• Utilize measurement instruments, troubleshoot electronics, and operate computers.

• Analyze railroad documentation to extract train speed data.

• Review and interpret track measurement data for reporting purposes.

• Drive hi-rail commercial motor vehicles.

• Perform maintenance on rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles.

• Execute regular housekeeping tasks to ensure safety and cleanliness aboard survey vehicles.

• Engage in routine travel and work on railroad track inspection vehicles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successful completion of a Public Trust background check is required. Candidates must have lived in the United States for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years to meet this criterion.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical fields, involving troubleshooting and problem-solving, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience.

• Familiarity with workplace safety protocols.

• Competence in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience in reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Background in conducting equipment and machinery inspections, including periodic maintenance and preventive maintenance.

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Operating System, including file transfer on a network, copying, and pasting.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficiency in using tape measures and similar measuring tools.

• Basic understanding of mathematics and fractional measurements.

• Possession of a valid Driver's License and the ability to pass a Department of Transportation medical examination to obtain a Commercial Driver Medical Certification.

• Must be capable of independent travel for business needs, which includes booking vehicle rentals and hotel accommodations.
