Junior Splunk Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Evaluate adherence to OMB Memorandum M-26-14 once the logging reference architecture (LRA) is released and offer suggestions for enhancements.

• Analyze and oversee security data feeds to enhance the coverage of essential security data sources.

• Provide expertise in log monitoring and normalization.

• Develop and revise reports and alerts to evaluate data quality and ensure compliance with security standards.

• Work collaboratively with SOC, IT, and application teams to identify and resolve issues.

• Deliver regular updates to senior management and data owners regarding the status of monitoring and the implementation of M-26-14.

• Draft documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for custom data sources and application configurations.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the cybersecurity domain.

• A Bachelor's degree is required, or an equivalent combination of experience (4 years of education plus 8 years of total experience).

• Experience with Qmulos applications for Splunk is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud is preferred.

• Competence in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.

• Proficiency in log management and analysis.

• Understanding of OMB Memorandum M-26-14.

• Capability to manage and advance multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to collaborate with various teams and provide clear and concise guidance during technical troubleshooting.

• Splunk Certifications are strongly preferred for this position.
