Junior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues across internal applications.

• Develop minor features and enhancements under the mentorship of senior developers.

• Assist in the maintenance of existing Laravel applications while supporting new development projects.

• Collaborate with MySQL databases to update, troubleshoot, and maintain application data.

• Contribute to the development and upkeep of RESTful APIs.

• Utilize Git for source control and engage in code review processes.

• Test new functionalities and ensure that bug fixes are thoroughly validated prior to deployment.

• Assist with system deployments and release management activities.

• Learn and adhere to coding standards, development best practices, and internal procedures.

• Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability and user experience.

• Update technical documentation when modifications are made to applications or processes.

• Help in maintaining user guides and internal documentation.

• Support internal users by investigating technical challenges and escalating more complicated issues when necessary.

• Ensure that all development work adheres to company security and data protection standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, capable of effective communication within an international team.

• Basic experience with PHP and Laravel, either through academic projects or commercial exposure.

• Familiarity with MySQL or other relational database systems.

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and contemporary frontend frameworks (experience with Livewire or Alpine.js is a plus).

• Familiarity with REST APIs.

• Experience with Git for version control.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and software development methodologies.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.

• An interest in AI technologies and localization software would be beneficial but is not required.
