Junior Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Accurately input patient and facility data from the facility system into the billing software.

• Ensure that all billing information is thorough and correctly recorded.

• Reconcile the facility software with the billing software at the conclusion of each week.

• Detect discrepancies and investigate any mismatched information.

• Primarily communicate via email regarding billing inquiries and follow-ups.

• Monitor Medicare payments and review claims after payments have been posted.

• Address denials and underpayments following the receipt of Medicare payment, typically around 14 days post-payment.

• Follow up on unresolved billing issues and ensure they are adequately addressed.

• Maintain precise records and documentation.

• Work autonomously to complete assigned billing and reconciliation duties.

• Adhere to established billing processes and protocols.

• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive healthcare information.

• No previous medical billing experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Excellent accuracy is required when handling data.

• A strong work ethic and reliability are crucial.

• Ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive or detailed tasks.

• Good written communication skills, especially through email.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good organizational and time-management abilities.

• Willingness to learn new systems, software, and procedures.

• Competence in following procedures and meeting deadlines.

• Basic computer skills and confidence in learning new technologies.

• Experience or proficiency with billing software is mandatory.

• Ability to work during US hours (9am-5pm EST).
