This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of current emulators and tools.
β’ Aid in the upkeep of the CI/CD pipeline, which includes installing new tools, updating systems, and writing and monitoring scripts.
β’ Enhance game performance on designated platforms.
β’ Troubleshoot compatibility issues across different platforms.
β’ Reverse engineer games to fix bugs, swap media, introduce achievements/trophies, and implement modern improvements.
β’ Work collaboratively with engineers, producers, and QA to optimize performance, ensure compatibility, and provide an exceptional player experience.
β’ 1β3 years of experience in generalist engineering, with a strong enthusiasm or background in video game development.
β’ Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Lua, etc.).
β’ Strong skills in C/C++ and a solid understanding of algorithms.
β’ Effective communicator who thrives in a remote team environment and proactively addresses challenges.
β’ A genuine passion for retro games and emulation.
β’ Bonus: Experience in building and optimizing software across various platforms.
β’ Bonus: Familiarity with game emulation or cross-platform ports, including making modifications/patches for classic games.
β’ Bonus: Knowledge of assembly languages such as x86, ARM, or MIPS, SIMD intrinsics, and binary analysis.
β’ Bonus: Practical experience with reverse engineering and debugging tools like Ghidra.
β’ Bonus: Experience with static recompilation techniques.
