Junior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee a system that tracks, reconciles, and reports data related to mortgage or insurance transactions, encompassing revenues, costs, and commissions.

• Ensure timely tracking and documentation of third-party reporting information.

• Detect revenue discrepancies and coordinate escalations with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Guarantee the accuracy of costs and revenues in Salesforce at the transactional level.

• Address agents’ inquiries regarding insurance or mortgage transactions, including detailed breakdowns of revenues or costs.

• Supervise, verify, and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial documentation.

• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and maintaining working papers.

• Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks or projects as directed by finance leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of pertinent experience in a similar role.

• Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Business, or Analytics) is preferred.

• Strong expertise in MS Excel/Google Sheets (including v-lookups, index and match functions, pivot tables, etc.) is essential.

• Familiarity with a CRM system (such as Salesforce) is advantageous.

• Ability to understand data and analyze as well as improve processes.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and exceptional organizational skills.

• Experience in sectors with high transaction volumes (such as credit cards, mortgage brokerage, insurance brokerage, etc.) would be beneficial.

• Proficient in using collaboration tools like Slack, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Resourceful: While you may not have all the answers, you know how to find them.
