Junior Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain features in web applications (both frontend and backend), adhering to the standards and best practices established by CIEE.

• Develop, utilize, and maintain REST APIs to ensure smooth integration between internal and external systems.

• Create unit tests and engage in code review activities.

• Evaluate requirements, user stories, and business rules to suggest and implement viable solutions.

• Work collaboratively with the team to define software and database architecture.

• Detect and resolve bugs, while proposing enhancements to existing systems.

• Maintain documentation for all developed activities, workflows, integrations, and business rules.

• Assess effort, deadlines, and challenges for each task.

• Take part in agile ceremonies such as planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.

• Assist interns and developers in carrying out technical tasks.

• Ensure that files, records, and area controls are current and accessible.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: A completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis and Development, Information Systems, or related disciplines.

• Experience: Proven experience in software development activities.

• Specific knowledge: Proficient in at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, PHP, or Python), foundational knowledge in web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), and familiarity with backend frameworks like Spring Boot.

• Databases: Understanding of SQL and relational databases (Oracle or MySQL) along with basic data modeling skills.

• Version control and collaboration: Experience with Git and a basic versioning workflow, including commits, branches, and pull requests.

• Integration and architecture: Basic understanding of REST APIs (creation and consumption), along with a fundamental knowledge of microservices and componentization.

• Software quality: Foundational knowledge in unit testing, Clean Code principles, and development best practices.

• Methodology: Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban.

• Infrastructure: Basic knowledge of Docker (image and container creation) and technical English for reading documentation.
