Junior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable and efficient data pipelines and systems in accordance with contemporary data engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with fellow Data Engineers to assess and prototype new tools and technologies, evaluating their advantages and risks to provide outstanding value to clients.

• Guarantee the reliability, performance, and maintainability of comprehensive data systems.

• Utilize infrastructure-as-code principles through Terraform for managing cloud resources.

• Guide junior engineers and perform code reviews.

• Work alongside cross-functional stakeholders to establish data requirements and deliver solutions within agile frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.

• Extensive hands-on experience with:

• Databricks (deep expertise required).

• AWS native technologies.

• Dbt, SQL (PostgreSQL), Python, Java, Harness, AWS (Redshift, RDS, S3, Glue, Lambda, DMS, CloudWatch), Data Pipelines, Data Modeling, System Maintenance, Data Integration, and Performance Optimization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in agile, iterative software development settings.

• Capacity to swiftly learn and implement new technologies and domain knowledge.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex topics to varied audiences.
