This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Manage journal entries, period-end accruals, prepaid expenses, and cash distributions for global entities operating in multiple currencies.
• Oversee high-volume account reconciliations for cash, accruals, and other current receivables and payables.
• Analyze and rectify balance sheet discrepancies within the deadlines for month-end closings.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams to address ledger discrepancies and ensure accurate cut-off.
• Prepare audit schedules and furnish documented support for regional external audit requests.
• Identify and address bottlenecks in the closing process.
• Engage in NetSuite optimization and workflow automation initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to local and global accounting standards as well as internal control measures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree or progress towards an accounting certification is a plus.
• 1–3 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
• Experience preferably in a multinational corporate setting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits/credits, expense recognition, and the matching principle.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong time-management abilities to adhere to strict deadlines.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Advanced skills in Excel are essential.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable tier-1 ERP system is highly desirable.
