This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Support the design, development, and assessment of marine vessels, ship machinery, and associated equipment, including propulsion and power generation systems.
• Assist the US Coast Guard in reviewing third-party design alterations and enhancements to mechanical systems and components.
• Conduct design evaluations, assess constructability, address technical challenges, and manage information produced throughout the design and construction processes.
• Perform analyses on propulsion systems and types, and lead the creation of technical data packages and reviews.
• Execute trade studies related to ship configurations.
• Carry out marine engineering analyses.
• Develop graphical representations of structures and systems.
• Inspect equipment or systems as necessary.
• Aid in researching advanced engineering designs or applications.
• Draft technical reports for internal purposes.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Capability to obtain a secret clearance.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in marine-specific disciplines (e.g., propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids, and hydraulics).
• Familiarity with GE LM2500 or MTU Engines/Generators.
