Java Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead modernization efforts by transitioning Java applications from Wildfly to Spring Boot, eliminating legacy components such as EJBs and JMS to streamline the architecture.

• Standardize APIs by developing and refining OpenAPI specifications, promoting contract-first development and effective service design.

• Ensure seamless integration by connecting systems and processes via Kafka to facilitate dependable, event-driven communication.

• Ensure quality by creating comprehensive integration and regression tests to maintain full functional equivalence post-migration.

• Construct for the cloud by establishing Kubernetes environments, access controls, and deployment strategies that align with platform standards.

• Automate delivery by designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines that enhance both speed and stability in every release.

• Maintain applications up to date continuously utilizing OpenRewrite and Renovate Bot.

• Develop and implement AI-driven code review systems as an intelligent first checkpoint for code quality and adherence to guidelines.

• Engage in daily experimentation with GitHub Copilot and other AI assistants to expedite the development process.

• Investigate AI-driven methods to identify risks and breaking changes during library updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Spring Boot and Java.

• Familiarity with SQL databases.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs.

• Knowledgeable in OpenAPI.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Proficient communication skills in English and Polish (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken.

• Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes/Cloud Environment.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Event Sourcing.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Kafka.
