
Java Developer, Basic DevOps Engineer – L2 Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Investigate and resolve intricate application incidents related to fleet operations platforms and driver management applications.
• Perform debugging at the code level, implement configuration changes, and carry out minor fixes (up to 80 engineering hours).
• Execute and verify deployments in both production and non-production environments.
• Conduct root cause analysis for escalated tickets; document findings and update knowledge base articles in ServiceNow.
• Monitor continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (Tier 1) and carry out remediation tasks (Tier 2).
• Address issues within AWS serverless infrastructure, including Lambda failures, DynamoDB anomalies, and RDS connectivity challenges.
• Provide support for server and service restarts, log-level diagnostics, and environment health assessments.
• Engage in weekend release activities several times a year.
• Proficient in Java: SpringBoot and JBoss — capable of reading stack traces, identifying root causes, and applying fixes or workarounds in production.
• Experience with databases: Oracle 11g and MS SQL Server — skilled in diagnostic and fix queries, as well as stored procedures.
• Familiarity with AWS technologies: Lambda, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and CloudWatch — hands-on troubleshooting expertise.
• Understanding of DevOps fundamentals: GitLab CI/CD and Docker — able to review pipeline statuses, execute deployments, and manage rollbacks.
• Knowledge of observability tools: Datadog — proficient in log searching, alert triage, and navigating service maps.
• Competence in operating systems: Linux — experienced in log reading, service management, and basic shell scripting.
• Experience with IT Service Management: ServiceNow — adept in ticket management, maintaining work notes, and SLA-aware escalation processes.
• Nice to Have:
• Experience with Node.js / JavaScript, particularly in back-end components.
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes.
