Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and support essential platform services, encompassing payment processes, transaction management, reconciliation, and wallet infrastructure.

• Engage in architecture discussions and provide input on technical solutions that align with the overarching platform strategy.

• Produce clear, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code in accordance with established engineering standards.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical dialogues.

• Convert business and technical requirements into dependable and scalable backend solutions.

• Work in close partnership with Product and DevOps teams to deliver financial functionalities from inception to completion.

• Contribute to the platform's advancement towards AI-driven and data-centric capabilities.

• Assist in enhancing platform reliability, fault tolerance, observability, and performance at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of commercial experience with Java in production settings.

• Practical experience with the Spring Boot framework and backend application development.

• In-depth knowledge of the Spring Boot ecosystem and large-scale distributed systems.

• Experience in working with distributed systems and creating scalable backend services.

• Background in building or supporting financial products, such as payments, wallets, banking, or fintech solutions.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including clean code practices, testing, and code reviews.

• Extensive experience with REST API development and messaging systems.

• Comfortable collaborating within a distributed, international team and working asynchronously.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD workflows, and observability tools.

• Previous experience in fintech, banking, payments, EMI, or other regulated financial settings.

• Knowledge of payment-related compliance standards, such as PCI DSS.

• Exposure to Open Banking providers or integrations with payment systems.

• Experience with Camunda or similar workflow orchestration tools.
