This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

• Oversee the technical design and execution of extensive data processing and streaming applications.

• Establish architectural standards and best practices for distributed data platforms.

• Create, develop, and enhance batch and real-time data pipelines utilizing Apache Spark and Kafka technologies.

• Construct and sustain scalable APIs adhering to OpenAPI specifications.

• Conduct system analysis, pinpoint performance bottlenecks, and deploy optimization strategies.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Mentor and assist development teams through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

• Ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards.

• Propel continuous improvement initiatives across development processes, architecture, and platform reliability.

• Engage in technical decision-making and roadmap planning.

• Extensive experience in Java development within enterprise settings.

• In-depth expertise in Apache Spark.

• Strong understanding of Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams.

• Practical experience with the Cloudera ecosystem.

• Background in developing applications using Scala.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs employing OpenAPI specifications.

• Solid grasp of SQL databases and data modeling principles.

• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.

• Practical experience with Databricks.

• Strong systems analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience leading technical teams and managing complex software projects.
