This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

• Oversee the technical design and execution of extensive data processing and streaming applications.

• Establish architectural standards and best practices for distributed data systems.

• Create, develop, and enhance batch and real-time data pipelines utilizing Apache Spark and Kafka technologies.

• Construct and sustain scalable APIs in accordance with OpenAPI specifications.

• Conduct system analysis, pinpoint performance bottlenecks, and implement strategies for optimization.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Guide and support development teams through code reviews, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

• Ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and consistent with enterprise standards.

• Propel continuous improvement initiatives across development processes, architecture, and platform reliability.

• Engage in technical decision-making and roadmap planning.

• Extensive experience with Java development in enterprise settings.

• Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, including Spark SQL, Spark Structured Streaming, and distributed data processing.

• Practical experience with the Cloudera ecosystem.

• In-depth knowledge of Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams.

• Experience in developing applications using Scala.

• Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs following OpenAPI specifications.

• Comprehensive understanding of SQL databases and data modeling concepts.

• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.

• Practical experience with Databricks.

• Strong skills in systems analysis and troubleshooting.

• Experience leading technical teams and managing complex software projects.

• Ability to make architectural choices and offer technical guidance.

• Experience in mentoring developers and advocating for engineering best practices.
