This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Collaborate on client projects for major corporations and public-sector clients, integrating within their teams and assuming full accountability for your designated area.
• Design, create, and test microservices based on Java technology.
• Develop both synchronous and asynchronous REST and SOAP APIs, documenting them using OpenAPI 3.
• Implement process automation with Camunda BPM.
• Automate testing processes utilizing JUnit 5 and Cucumber.
• Deploy your services, oversee their performance, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Contribute to the architectural design.
• Generate, assess, and refactor code with the help of AI tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
• Coordinate with integration partners across different teams.
• Provide partial support for developed services in a production environment, including participating in scheduled on-call rotations.
• Senior-level expertise; able to deliver results from day one and work autonomously.
• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot, encompassing Spring Data and Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience in designing, developing, and testing microservices.
• Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services utilizing JSON/XML over HTTP and OpenAPI 3.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
• Proficient in JUnit 5 and Cucumber.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Competence in CI/CD processes using GitLab Pipelines and Maven builds.
• Familiar with Git, Jira, Confluence, and agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Camunda BPM on real projects.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0 and Keycloak for authentication and authorization.
• Native-level proficiency in German or C1/C2 level competence.
• Fluent in English.
• Daily coordination with business stakeholders and integration partners is essential.
• Productive use of AI tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor is mandatory.
• Beneficial but not required: knowledge of Apache Kafka and asynchronous communication.
• Beneficial but not required: familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSLT.
• Beneficial but not required: experience in complex projects involving multiple teams.
• Beneficial but not required: experience with legacy J2EE systems and their migration to Spring Boot.
• Flexibility to work from home, the office, or a hybrid arrangement—your choice.
• A MacBook will be provided (unless the client supplies their own hardware).
• Exposure to diverse clients and projects.
