Japanese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of their messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show eagerness to acquire new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Japanese."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not essential.

• A good understanding of medical terminology is a plus, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are an advantage (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
