This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Take full ownership of the corporate technology layer from start to finish — encompassing identity and access management, SaaS tools, device security, and the employee-centric systems that ensure the smooth operation of a rapidly expanding company.
• Develop and enhance our three-tier access entitlement framework: automatic granting for Tier 1, manager approval for Tier 2, and both manager and security approval for Tier 3.
• Assist in access review initiatives and play a key role in SOC 2 compliance efforts — ensuring the maintenance of audit trails, approval processes, and provisioning logs.
• Promote SaaS hygiene across our suite of tools — including shadow IT detection, configuration hardening, and data classification in collaboration with the security team.
• Create the integrations and automation necessary to eliminate manual IT tasks — linking identity, HRIS, and SaaS tools into scalable provisioning workflows.
• Collaborate on IT support for a team of over 70 individuals –– effectively triaging and resolving hardware and software challenges with sound judgment and pragmatism.
• Manage the device lifecycle and facilitate new hire onboarding from start to finish, ensuring a smooth Day 1 experience.
• Possess 4+ years of experience in IT engineering, corporate security, or a combined IT/SecOps role with direct involvement in identity and SaaS environments.
• Have extensive, practical knowledge of Okta — including SSO configuration, lifecycle management, MFA policies, and group-based provisioning.
• Have experience building or managing HRIS/IT integrations and comprehend how provisioning pipelines function across HR, identity, and downstream SaaS applications.
• Have conducted access reviews and are familiar with what SOC 2 access control evidence entails — including logs, approval processes, and audit trails.
• Be comfortable using the command line and able to write scripts (Terraform, Python, Bash, or similar) to automate repetitive IT tasks.
• Have supported end users in a fast-paced company and understand how to balance speed with security without becoming a hindrance.
• Think in terms of systems and workflows rather than just tickets — seeking out root causes and creating sustainable solutions.
• Flourish in ambiguous, high-agency environments and aspire to take ownership of a function, rather than merely executing tasks.
• Influence corporate IT at a company utilizing AI in sectors such as government, healthcare, and critical industries — the stakes are significant.
• Build systems from the ground up with a clear roadmap, genuine ownership, and a direct impact on the scaling of IT within the company.
• Collaborate with senior engineers from prestigious organizations like Tesla, DeepMind, Databricks, and others.
• Deliver impactful automation and IT platform infrastructure — not just maintain existing systems.
• Receive competitive compensation and meaningful equity in a rapidly growing company.
