IT Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Business Analysts/Product Owners to evaluate approved business requirements, workflows, rules, and acceptance criteria.

• Convert approved requirements into comprehensive system requirements, technical specifications, and actionable technical tasks.

• Record system behavior, integrations, interfaces, data impacts, mappings, edge cases, and non-functional aspects.

• Identify technical impacts, dependencies, constraints, and obstacles, and provide recommendations to the Engineering and Architecture teams.

• Ensure traceability from approved business requirements through to technical specifications, design, testing, and the resulting system behavior.

• Aid in backlog preparation by confirming that technical requirements, dependencies, impacts, and system considerations are understood prior to development.

• Contribute to user story Level of Effort (LOE) and planning by evaluating technical complexity, system impacts, dependencies, and implementation risks.

• Validate the delivered system behavior against the documented technical requirements and assist with Development/Quality Assurance issue analysis and defect triage.

• Generate technical documentation, including Technical Design Documentation (TDD).

• Create and maintain technical release documentation.

• Oversee Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations, certificate renewals, and ongoing maintenance for client-facing applications.

• Act as the primary technical liaison for clients during the SSO onboarding, configuration, testing, and deployment phases.

• Lead discussions on system configuration for client implementation projects.

• Facilitate configuration execution, production readiness evaluations, and cutover activities.

• Provide post-implementation support for ongoing operations and ensure successful client adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Proven experience in translating business requirements into technical or system specifications is essential.

• Experience in supporting system integrations, data flows, and application behavior is required.

• Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery environments is preferred.

• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments is also preferred.

• Strong skills in systems analysis and technical requirements documentation are needed.

• Ability to convert complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.

• Experience in defining system interfaces, APIs, data models, and integrations is necessary.

• Understanding of system architecture, dependencies, and data flows is crucial.

• Ability to evaluate complexity, dependencies, risks, and technical trade-offs.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills are required.

• Capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

• Proven collaboration skills across Product, Business, Architecture, Development, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams.
